What is Math anyways?
We all have different ideas and perceptions as to what math is. To some mathematics are just a series of numbers and problems that they will never use. To others its just a subject that was created by a bunch of hairy old guys who just wanted to make everyone's else life hard and miserable. Officially mathematics is the science that deals with the logic of shape, quantity and arrangement. In reality, mathematics is all around us, in everything we do is and is a broad and exciting subject that its applications apply to many fields and areas.
What is Trigonometry?
Trigonometry, the first part of the word is from Greek trigon "triangle". The second part of trigonometry is from Greek metron "a measure." So originally trigonometry was understood to define relations between elements of a triangle. Everything you need to find out about a triangle, trigonometry is what you use. Trigonometry is a branch of mathematics that studies relationships between the sides and angles of triangles. Trigonometry is found all throughout geometry, as every straight-sided shape may be broken into as a collection of triangles. Further still, trigonometry has astoundingly intricate relationships to other branches of mathematics, in particular complex numbers, infinite series, logarithms and calculus. |
What is Pre-Calculus?
Before we get into what calculus is let us first clear the big question, who really created calculus? Was it Sir Isaac Newton or Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz? In reality we will never truthfully know but all we know is that we were left with this glorious subject. Pre-calculus is a combination of algebra and trigonometry that is designed to get you prepared for calculus. Calculus is the branch of mathematics that deals with the finding and properties of derivatives and integrals of functions. The two main types are differential calculus and integral calculus. Since in algebra is so vast, here we dive into deeper concepts of algebra and barely touch the subject of calculus. |
